Yes On Prop 15

What is Proposition 15?

Prop 15 is a citizen-initiated California ballot proposition that aims to:
1. Close property tax loopholes that benefit wealthy corporations
2. Cut small business taxes
3. Reclaim billions of dollars every year to invest in our schools and local communities
4. Exempt homeowners, renters, small businesses and agricultural land so they continue to be protected by Prop 13
5. Prioritize transparency and accountability by requiring public disclosure of all new revenues and how they are  spent.

 The Benefits of Proposition 15

Prop 15 will reclaim billions every year for our schools, community colleges, and essential local services in every county to invest in things like:
  • Class Sizes
  • Healthcare services
  • Fighting homelessness
  • Firefighters and their equipment
  • Safe drinking water
  • Preparing for future disasters such as wildfire, pandemic or earthquake

A vote for YES means:

Property taxes on most commercial properties worth more than $3 million would go up in order to provide new funding to local governments and schools.

A vote for NO means:

Property taxes on commercial properties would stay the same. Local governments and schools would not get new funding.
